Sons of Satan

(A/N: yeah yeah yeah most cliche title ever when it comes to Ao No Exorcist stuff. Deal with it. So. this is both the first fanfic i'm posting on DA...as well as my first exorcist fanfic. I havent read the manga and its AU...kinda. basically takes place a while after the anime ends. also. amamon is no longer a hamster. T.T also. its a WIP so ch 1 isnt done yet.)

Prologue- Mephisto's POV:

"You really have gone soft..." The words echoed through my mind as I recalled the astonished and hurt face of my younger brother after I'd stated I acted the way I did and watched my footsteps so I'd remain an asset to the Vatican. "I hadn't believed it...everythign they said about you...that you were lapdog to the Vatican...weak.../human/." He hissed the word in a low quivering voice that struck a nerve somewhere deep within me though I did not show it. "Father said so...our brothers...even as low as the slaves down there are speaking of it...I defended you! I told Father to his face he was wrong about you! That you were every bit a demon as you ever were!" I'd looked away, unable to look into his teary eyes out of shame.
Still, I felt his eyes staring hard at me, fists clenched so tightly they drew blood from his palms, but he didnt seem to care.
"I-I KNOW you're still one of us!" But his voice wasn't so sure. "I just know it..."
"You're wrong Amaimon." My words were quiet, slow, careful, guilty. "I am no longer Prince of Hell...the first born of Satan."

CHAPTER ONE

Mephisto's POV:

I awoke suddenly, troubled by the conversation in my dream. I had, in reality, occured over 7 months ago (not too long for someone who had been alive for countless centuries) and had played in my head every waking moment since. So it wasmaking appearences in my dreams now too? I hadn't seen Amaimon since that instance...after I'd say that he had been completely speechless for a moment, narrowed his eyes, swore to make me change my mind, and stormed from my office. It was getting difficult to deny my loneliness and boredom in the big room, or to pretend I did not notice he sent my calls straight to voice mail,(when he was here I simply tolerated his presence, used him as a training too for Rin but now that he was gone and would not answer....) or that what he had called me truly bothered me.

Human.

Something deep within me stirred every time that word crossed my mind. Something dark and hateful I had buried long ago. The demon inside me. Though the demon was sleeping, I still recalled all of the memories. The pain...the fire...the chaos I had caused...the power I became addicted to...I didnt want to go back to that.

Amaimon's POV:

I held the infinity key above me as I laid down on some bench in some mall somewhere. The idiot...what did he mean he was no longer Son of Satan...no longer my anuie...

No longer mine.

I blushed softly at the thought and pushed it from my mind. Some guy with red and blue hair told me he liked mine. For some reason I had the sudden urge to kill him...but as I watched him walk away the red faded to pink, the blue deepened to purple and I had to physically shake my head to keep from seeing Mephisto.
As if he heard his name cross my mind, I heard my phone begin to ring. I was the middle of the day over here, making it the middle of the night there...why was he calling so late?

Not that I cared...

A little voice inside of me whispered it could be an emergency, but another hissed back at it that he would never call me if he were in one. He would never need my help.  I frowned and stuck it back in my pocket, allowing it to go to my over full mail box. He called at least once a day and always left a voice mail saying the most insignificant things. I saved every one just so I could hear his voice.
